Carol Schoffel Faber is a partner in the Miami office of Akerman LLP, a national AmLaw 100 law firm, practicing for over 30 years. Carol represents major financial institutions, real estate companies, servicers, and domestic and international investors in a wide range of complex commercial real estate transactions, from financing, leasing, and acquisition and sales, to distressed loans and properties, including workouts, restructures, and property, loan and judgment sales, ranging from several million to many hundreds of millions of dollars, on vacant land and developed properties of all kinds.
Ms. Faber is one of Florida's Super Lawyers, and Florida Trend's Legal Elite, and she was named in 2011 and 2017 by Real Estate Forum as a Women of Influence, one of 50 women real estate professionals chosen nationally. Carol currently serves on the U.M. Law School Real Property Development LLM Program Advisory Board, as Co-Chair of the Women Innovating Now (WIN) Lab Miami Advisory Board, and previously on the Real Estate Editorial Advisory Board of Law360, on the Executive Committee of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council, and as Director of the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. Carol was the Chair for ten years of Akerman's Women's Initiative Network and is Co-chair of its Distressed Property Practice Group.
