Chair, University of Miami Board of Trustees

Laurie Silvers is co-CEO of Hollywood.com, a leading entertainment website. Ms. Silvers is the co-founder of the Syfy Channel, which she originally sold to USA Networks and is now owned by NBCUniversal; co-founder and the majority owner of the MisFits, a global esports organization; and a majority owner of four FM radio stations in Florida. 

Ms. Silvers was elected to the UM Board of Trustees in 2003 and is the 2021-2023 chair of the Board, following a one-year term as vice chair.  A University of Miami School of Law building is named the Laurie Silvers and Mitchell Rubenstein Hall -- in honor of Ms. Silvers and her husband, and the Laurie Silvers and Mitchell Rubenstein Endowed Distinguished Professorship at the School of Law is also named in their honor.  Her three children are also alum of the University.
